No. 1 son had done a beautiful batik picture of a volcano at school using various coloured dyes. Predominately blue dye. He was very proud of this picture and had hung it in his bedroom window. Seeing as its insanely hot at the moment his window is permanently open.
No. 4 son is obsessed with the garden hose at the moment and keeps turning it on and spraying everything he can find with it. Today he decided, while I was inside on the phone, to turn on the hose and after spraying everything on his level, to spray upwards, through No 1 son’s open bedroom window. Soaking the hanging batik and essentially spatter painting the entire room with blue dye.
Realising what he had done, he went up to investigate. In doing so, he not only covered himself in blue dye, but also dripped it down the carpet on the stairs on his way back down.
All this an hour before an estate agent was coming to see my house. Wonderful timing all around.
So I take back my earlier comments…purely for fear of what might happen next if I don’t. My children are clearly gifted artists. Just not at the type of art of which I am a fan.
