Sadly Saturday was filled with torrential rain and therefore unexercised children. Never a good combination. But we managed to have a Sunday and a Monday filled with family fun. Phew!
On Sunday we headed out to Knole Park. Finally having 4 children who can all ride bikes made for a lovely long walk (parents) and bike ride (children) which suitably wore us all out.
The boys loved exploring the enchanted forest. Crusoe’s world – an amazing tree house type creation, with long boats and huts with skeletons hanging spookily from them…
The only downside to our visit was that we neglected to read the bit on the website which said there was free entry for children dressed as Cowboys or Indians! Would have been quite a saving for us. But never mind. It was well worth the money and we had a great time.
Then, as if we hadn’t had enough fun, Becky reminded me that St Julians had their annual Bluegrass festival. So we headed down there for a BBQ supper for the boys, and to listen to all the very talented people jamming together in an impromptu fashion. Including Becky’s No. 1 son, who is a very talented young man. Perfect weekend. Wish it didn’t have to end.
