So here are a few we want to tell you about. This is by no means a definitive or comprehensive list, rather our thoughts for today that might provide you with some diversion, advice, interest or hope!
The Family Adventure Project
Jennie Henley fills us with awe each time we read her blog. Since the loss of her beautiful daughter Tilda in February 2013, her blog’s focus has become parenting after loss. And there is no hiding how very hard that is for Jennie and her husband, David: http://www.edspire.co.uk/year_2015/01/29/being-me/
Aren’t there days, maybe today, when you feel like leaving the rat race and going on an adventure? Well that’s what this family did. Two parents, 3 boys, home schooling on the move, travelling to far flung places and experiencing the world and life in a way many of us only dream of.
Three Happy Thoughts https://threehappythoughts.wordpress.com
A beautifully simple diary-style blog written by Kate Waugh. She felt inspired to write following the unexpected death of her wonderfully positive mother in 2011. Kate had been following the equally simple and effective http://threebeautifulthings.blogspot.co.uk, and felt moved to do a similar thing. She has managed to come up with three happy thoughts every single day since November 2011, which is no mean feat, but as she says, helps to keep her sane. Her own favourite post is this: https://threehappythoughts.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/the-beginning/
Kate’s husband, Mat, has his own very useful website that offers parenting shortcuts (for mums, dads, or anyone) in a brilliantly witty and pragmatic way. As Mat says, “if you want to know how to fish a poo out of the bath, you’ve come to the right place.” Kate offers her favourite Dadshack blog post as Rub Vicks on the soles of a child’s feet to stop coughing
Emily blogs about parenting, but also about food. And since feeding children is one of our favourite topics (or least favourite depending on the success or failure of a meal) her blog is one of our faves!
Check out this recipe which may be getting some use soon. Pancake Day (sorry, Shrove Tuesday) is next Tuesday, 17th February. Which is Angelique’s twins birthday - I guess their birthday breakfast has just been decided!
