Sally Hall, the founder of Dorothy and Theodore, is the author of our guest post today. She tells us about the inspiration behind her business and some of her favourite products available through her site.
My children remain my biggest inspiration for the huge number of hours that go into running a rapidly growing business. I am, first and foremost a mum, and finding something that I know they would really love (like our stunning sailing boats headboard for my boats & pirate bonkers 2 year old) really makes me tick, as does the desire to prove to them first hand that you can achieve anything you want if you work hard enough at it and really believe in it.
As to my favourite things....whilst it is pretty hard to choose (and the biggest hazard of running D&T is the constant need to resist the urge to shop!) I do have a true love of all things Mary Poppins and this print was my Mother’s Day gift this year. I completely love it and it has pride of place in my office and spurs me on to work harder for me, and for my littlies.
As the business grows, I am motivated by the genuine need that I think there is for mums and dads to be the parents that they want to be in their own way. Fabulous products like the Snoob make life so much easier for out & about mums whilst still allowing them to wear what they want to wear and be the women they truly are.
Being a mother is a huge privilege and one which I personally can't get enough. And being able to be that mother whilst still filling my home and life with products I adore makes it even more pleasurable.
