Potty training is something I am glad to have as a distant memory. Even if it wasn’t actually that long ago, something that can dominate your life when you are in the midst of it, is quickly forgotten once your child is able to take control of their bladder and bowels, even if they aren’t always able to aim correctly!
One thing I do know is that no child is the same. Each child will learn to use the potty or toilet in their own good time. And having twins, especially non identical twins as I do, is a particularly good example of this. Several months passed between my twin boys being toilet trained. One decided on his own that he was ready. The other needed more encouragement and wasn’t dry at night until many many months later. My first son was potty trained at 2 and a half. My second son at 3 and a half. The good thing about having four children is that I was much more relaxed by the time it came to potty training my twin boys. Maybe I just need to work a bit harder on their target practice.
