Becky’s No 3 and 4 and my No 3 and 4 are enjoying tennis coaching care of the fabulous Charlie Sweet of Sweet Sports this week. They loved it in spite of the torrential rain on Monday, but are definitely enjoying it more in the sunshine!
This afternoon we attempted a walk around the block with all 8 Snoob kids, and a few extras. 2 bikes, 2 scooters and a puppy added to the mix for an extra challenge. Our conclusion being that the whole neighbourhood would probably prefer us not to partake in such activities. The majority of the time was spent shouting the names of my No 3 and 4 and Becky’s No 4, as they charged ahead, with little concern for road safety or their anxious mums.
I am enjoying the slightly slower, lazier mornings that the holidays bring. The absence of the school run twice a day is a welcome one. But, I am very aware that we are only on day 3. There are quite a few days left. And whilst some children turn to lovely Easter crafty activities, I know my boys just don’t share the same enthusiasm for such things. There is only so much wrestling any mum can take, so I forsee lots of long walks & time spent den building and hunting Easter Bunnies at Riverhill Gardens. No doubt we’ll also pay a visit to Penshurst Place for their Easter carrier pigeon trail, to cause a bit more chaos somewhere else. And finally, the consumption of nearly their body weight in chocolate right at the end of the holidays…timed perfectly, just before I return them to their teachers!
