LOOK NO FURTHER: here we have an untried and untested 10-point fail-safe coping mechanism:
1. Obvious but essential: the kids will be back in school/nursery very soon (if not already) – hallelujah for all the wonderful headspace #sacrificethelieinforsomesanity.
6. Build a pizza oven in your garden so that you can pretend you are somewhere much hotter. Use it even in winter and even in the rain (umbrellas optional). Post photos of your smiling, soggy, shivering selves on FB. You will be unbelievably popular.
9. Locate, open and savour the sensationally delicious holiday wine you brought home. The taste buds will be so grateful and the holiday memories will spring to life. Or not…. you might be sharply reminded of vinegar and cheap plonk #thatswhyitcostoneeuro.

PS If you are keen to test out point No. 6, and eat pizzas cooked in your own garden come rain or shine (or snow), Jon Elbra of Soleau Ltd is a brilliant builder with a special expertise in constructing pizza ovens. An eye for detail, Jon absolutely knows his stuff. And the ovens don't just cook pizzas. If you'd like to know more....let us know :-) In the meantime look out for more photos (kids' parties sorted for the next few years).
